Is Xiaomi 13 the smarter Android buy instead of Samsung Galaxy S23?
The Xiaomi 13 and 13 Pro have been added to the list of top Android smartphones for 2023. Both phones went on sale this week in China, and according to Xiaomi, they'll soon be available everywhere else, along with the Ultra model, which is still a secret. They will likely go on sale at the same time as the Samsung Galaxy S23 line, which is anticipated to happen in the first few months of 2023.
We stated in our evaluation of the Xiaomi 12 that it "is among the top Android devices available. It is in direct competition with popular smartphone producers like Apple and OnePlus and the top-tier Samsung devices available today." Should Samsung, therefore, be concerned about the number 13?
KEY DIFFERENCES BETWEEN XIAOMI 13 AND PRO VS SAMSUNG GALAXY S23:
The Leica camera system with 50, 10, and 12MP cameras, a 32MP selfie camera, a 4,500mAh battery, and a 6.36-inch, 120Hz, 1,200 nit OLED with Dolby Vision and a 20:9 aspect ratio are all stunning specifications for the Xiaomi 13.
The LPTO OLED display on the larger Xiaomi 13 Pro measures 6.73 inches, and the camera assembly has three 50MP shooters with a single 32MP selfie camera on the front. 4,820 mAh are used in this battery.
The Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 is expected to be present in the Samsung Galaxy S23 as well, however, rumors claim it will be an optimized model with faster clock rates. The next 13 Ultra might increase the camera spec to meet the Galaxy S23 Ultra, which is anticipated to have an even higher resolution configuration than these two Xiaomi devices.
The specs of the new Xiaomi are comparable to those of the Samsungs, but one of the biggest problems will be the cost. The Xiaomi 12 was priced similarly to other flagship devices, but we don't yet know how much Xiaomi will charge for these gadgets. It will be difficult for Xiaomi, no matter how amazing its phones are, to compete with the 2023 Galaxy range given that Samsung has the kind of brand awareness and marketing spending in the US and EU that Xiaomi can only dream of.
